Our contestant sits blind-folded in the gunge tank. They have to correctly guess what's being poured over them to stay in the safe zone. If they fail to guess the mess, then they move down a level. At the end of the game, if they are no longer safe, they are covered in a bucket of thick, horrible coloured gunge.

In the first episode, jackinthegunge is bare foot and wears white football kit that doesn't stay white for very long.
